Gate Automation
This section explains what gates can be automated, and describes the main automatic gate systems used for domestic and light industrial gate systems. Please contact ELITESOL.IN to discuss the automation of heavy industrial gates, which are not covered by this Section. What Can be Automated?
So long as your gate is in good working order, we have already automated:- Sliding gates – single or twin
- Swing gates, single or twin
- Metal gates – steel, aluminium, cast iron
- Wooden gates
- Old gates
- New gates

How is the Track Installed?
If your driveway is smooth concrete, a track can be fixed directly to the surface, reducing the installation cost. However, if your gateway is uneven, or dirt, then the track must be set into a new concrete footing, usually 300mm wide and 300mm deep.
The Slidegate Motor
The motor is typically fixed to a concrete base and powered from a weatherproof power point. Note that the system can be powered by 240 volt mains, 24 volt or 12 volt. Batteies and/or solar power is also available. For more information, see ‘Powering your Gate Automation’ below.
The motor moves the gate using a ‘drive rack’. This is a toothed rail, fixed to the gate. The motor ‘pinion’ connects with the rack and opens or closes the gate. See ‘Optional Extras’ for safety devices and other ways to operate your gate system.
